A professor was attacked by a student with a knife at a building on the edge of the University of Toronto's downtown campus on Wednesday afternoon, police say.


Toronto police were called to the scene at 22 Russell Street at 3:24 p.m. ET.


Police say the victim was cut in the arm and leg.


The suspect was restrained by others in an office and her knife was taken away.


Police say that one person is in custody.


Paramedics say a man in his 40s was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
